Great gifts for Kids!
It may only be the eleventh of August, but it’s already beginning to feel like the back to school season. My mailbox is filled with back-to-school flyers, filled with a plethora of “must have’s” to be sure our kids are prepared for that wonderful first day of school. I’m not sure who is most excited about the school season starting: the mom’s who will bask in the silence and excitement of having the house back to themselves; or the kids who are have been looking forward to renewing friendships after two months of being apart.
Nor surprisingly, some kids may not be a bit anxious about the new classroom, new teacher, perhaps even new school. If your child is a bit anxious about all those “firsts”, be sure to address them and encourage him/her to express their feelings. Remember: feelings are neither right nor wrong – they just are. It’s our reaction to those feelings that have an impact on the outcome. Teach your child the best strategies for dealing with those underlying fears.
